Blackberry joins City Stars
The player has been training with the Nairobi side for the better part of the pre-season and has also been in talks with the club on a return to the Kenyan League.
Club chairman Peter Jabuya, who revealed that the player had agreed terms with the clubs and would be part of their squad for the coming season.
“Nairobi City Stars has agreed to sign Blackberry and he will therefore be part of our striking force into the coming season in a bid to strengthen our squad,” he said.
“He is a good player who has a lot to share with the team and I believe this is a right move for him.”
The chairman also silenced those referring to the move as a backward step, and referring to City Stars as too small a club for Blackberry to wait for a shocker in the coming season.
Jabuya believes that the club will have a competitive edge into the 2013 season and urged their critics to concentrate positive remarks that build rather than pull down talent.
“People should not post comments that demoralise the player since we at City Stars believe in him and he is able to regain his full form,” he insisted. The chairman, however, promised to release details of the agreement within a week’s time as they were seeking to sign more players.
