Azam sign Blackberry
Tanzanian side Azam FC has signed George
“Blackberry” Odhiambo on a two year contract.
The former Randers striker was expected to
put pen to paper on Saturday afternoon.
Odhiambo left the Danish club after his
contract was mutually terminated in April. He has attracted several clubs like
former side Gor Mahia.
The club’s media officer Patrick Kahemele
confirmed of the development.
“I can confirm that we have signed Blackberry.
He has been with the team and he will sign the contract this afternoon.”
With the forward joining the club, he will
play alongside Ibrahim Shikanda who is the only Kenyan featuring in the Vodacom
Premier League.
The Vodacom Premier League ends on Sunday
and the second placed side will face Kagera Sugar while Simba who have been
crowned champions will face Yanga.
Azam are set to play in the upcoming Kagame
Cup that will take place in Dar es Salaam in which the Kenya international will
be out to regain the form that saw him named the 2010 KPL Player of the Year.
The last time Odhiambo played for Harambee
Stars was against Angola where the hosts won 2-1 at Nyayo Stadium in the
African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
